At the Annual Partner’s Meeting of the Southeast Diesel Collaborative (SEDC) in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the Middle Georgia Clean Air Coalition was announced as the 2019 SEDC Visionary Leadership Award Winner for all the outstanding efforts to improve air quality in Middle Georgia. Particular projects of note related to MGCAC’s recognition include the successful conversion of locomotives as Brosnan Yard, as well as efforts of the MGCAC to promote vehicle electrification.

The SEDC is a partnership of public and private organizations focused on reducing the impacts of older diesel engines. The SEDC is staffed and managed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 4 office in Atlanta. Past winners of the Visionary Leadership Award include the Kentucky Clean Fuels Coalition, City of Raleigh, Volvo, the Mecklenburg County GRADE program, and other organizations.
